Should an artist discover his own style and stick to it giving a holiday to further experiments ?

This is an interesting question dodged by some and dismissed as irrelevant by some others. Listen to this interview with Satish Gujral and towards the end he talks about how he switched style and mediums to experiment regardless of market considerations.
